Dear representative,

As a resident within your constituency, I am writing to you in concern of the current issues involving anti-racism protests in the United States of America and the withholding of the Covid-19 Disparity report on statistics concerning race, gender and health issues.

Concerning the protests in the U.S.:

  • Do you condone the actions of police instigated brutality against Black people, people of colour, peaceful protesters and detained individuals that has been well documented online? (If you have not seen any such footage, The Verge has an article titled "Caught on camera, police explode in rage and violence across the US" available online that provides extensive, visceral footage. It is shocking and gory at times so search for it at your own discretion.)
  • Do you condone the UK's supply of riot gear, tear gas and rubber bullets to the U.S. that can be and has been used against peaceful protesters, journalists and innocent bystanders?
  • Do you and the Prime Minister condone Trump's use of military forces and weaponry to dissipate and terrorise protesters and it’s own citizens?

Concerning the withholding of the Covid-19 report:

  • It was stated by the Department of Health and Social Care "It is not true to say this has been delayed due to global events." Can you give a reason as to why this was postponed for a second time?
  • Do you believe this information should have been made available to the public before the restrictions on travel and outdoor activities were reduced?
  • In withholding this information without any concrete statement as to why when people are already feeling scared and unheard, do you agree a better way to respond to civil unrest should be transparency, easily available information and communicating plans to deal with issues that are brought forward through said transparency?

I will also be sending this message via email, your official website and social media with theses same questions hopes of a quick response.

I look forward to hearing your views on these issues and how you’re representing our community's values in these times.
Black lives matter.
