Supplement List - posted by guest on 1st April 2021 10:21:02 AM
Supplements are really going to depend on what you exactly want to feed. I am not married to any brand of anything, and am open to buy other brands/forms (liquid/powder/etc.) as I am essentially looking for the ingredient not the brand or anything. I've used lots of different brands over the years! Generally speaking, I buy human grade things because it's the same as the animal grade stuff and cheaper.
Daily:
- Raw Goats Milk: This is the bread and butter. it is jam packed with nature's probiotics and is a natural miracle. If I can get it straight from the mother goat's teet locally, I will. Unfortunately, lately that's not quite been possible in my situation. I can only link the websites of what I buy as these things need to be purchased at a grocery store. I can find the Raw Farm milk at Sprouts and I can find Redwood hill at Safeway, Sprouts, Whole Foods, etc.

- Fish Oil: (I would omit this if I fed fish, but Atlas won't eat it). I like liquid as Atlas won't eat capsules. I can pump it directly in to the goats milk and his food and it'll get lapped up with the rest. It's a natural anti-inflammatory and keeps his coat shiny. I also think it makes him shed less.

- Solid Gold Seameal: There are both anti-inflammatories and digestive aids in this. I buy this one specifically for the kelp. I know there's kelp in other stuff, but this is what my boyfriend's family uses and I like it.

Upset Tummy (Given in addition to above when I see loose stool):
- Turmeric & Black Pepper: This really isn't anything special. It's simply 100% turmeric. Anti-inflammatory when combined with black pepper. For the BP I really just crack some out of my black peppercorn grinder. I prefer powder instead of capsules so I can scoop with a spoon. Also, again, he won't eat capsules because he is a jerk.

- Propectalin: Given at the vet but can be bought over the counter at sites like chewy and 1800 pet meds with no prescription. I like tablets instead of liquid so I can crush them in to his food. A lot of dogs take this like a treat too and will eat it whole. It is a stool firmer and has probiotics.

- Slippery Elm Powder: This is full of fiber and can act as an antacid which can be nice for upset tummies. It has long been a folk remedy to humans and works for the pup as well. I was using capsules that I was breaking open before but I linked the powder I just bought which should make management easier.

- Pet Probiotics: For this one I am especially not married to a brand. I linked fortiflora below because I do like it because I cannot find the one I am using right now.

- B12: This is specifically because Atlas has low b12 levels (and high folate), thus, I supplement.

Again, I am super not married to any of these brands! I use these links because of the ingredients so if you cannot find the specific one it's really okay.
