CHARACTERS
ALLEN – Jason Allen is in his mid-30s with scruffy hair and a beard. He is patient and thoughtful, even calculating at times. Allen leads the rest of the squad on the quest to find out what happened to Lt. Ryan. He shouldn’t appear clean cut, to suggest that he is no longer “active duty.” The military may have been too much for him. Trained rifleman.
REYES – Freddie Reyes is a tall, slender man with close-cropped, extremely curly hair. He appears to be in his late 20s to early 30s. He has a friendly face and an affable manner, but he is the most resigned of the group. He is still active duty, and so his clothes and hair should reflect a career military man. Infantry.
NIELSEN – Gena Nielsen is a short, red-headed woman with a stocky, muscular build. She has a strong face with dark brown eyes. She looks a little irritated most of the time, and she likely is, but she deeply cared for Lt. Ryan. She is the most righteously angry about his death, and the first to join Allen in discovering the truth. Nielsen is infantry/radio.
HARRISON – Ty Harrison is a man in his late 20s. Ty has dark brown skin, a shaved head, and a slightly less athletic build than the others. The youngest of Ryan’s original squad, he struggled with the violence and depravity he saw, and was the first to leave the squad in favor of taking a nursing job in the States. Ty is a medic.
PLOT SUMMARY
Jason Allen and his former squadmates reunite after their former commanding officer, Lt. Dean Ryan, goes missing to uncover the truth behind his disappearance.
Their first move is to investigate the camp where Lt. Ryan was last seen. They discover that he was kidnaped by his new squad of elite rangers. Evidence suggests that their reason for taking him out lie in Dubai, their previous assignment, and so Allen and his team trace their footsteps to the city. Here, they learn that the general they executed while under his command, was in fact protecting a whistleblower. Ryan’s new squad had been tasked with assassinating that very whistleblower, who is now missing, but his last known location was in The Empty Quarter desert in the UAE.
In the desert, there is yet another trail and the team believes that the whistleblower is still alive, and may now be in the hands of the Russian terrorists she was about to expose. Allen and his friends discover that the terrorist cell has been contracted by cabal of politicians and special-interest groups in the USA to attack and destabilize the country, and thus control the outcome of the United States presidential election. The whistleblower and the general they executed in Ecuador were coming forward to expose those involved.
It becomes clear to the team that Ryan was murdered, like others, to prevent him from coming forward. With this sobering knowledge, they pursue the terrorist cell to their end in Russia and destroy them.
